For consumers, the design and price of the work lighting may be more important, which is why Nordeye offers work lighting for many different needs and applications.
WHY IS LED WORK LIGHTING A GOOD CHOICE?
LED technology (Light Emitting Diode) offers advantages compared to Halogen and Xenon. The long lifespan, durability, and efficiency of LED lamps provide significant savings in terms of service costs and energy consumption. LED work lights also offer greater flexibility and possibilities in terms of design.

Work lights come in a variety of brands and includes connectors, mounts, and accessories. Common designs are round or rectangular work lighting, but work lighting can also come as light bars or in oval designs. Mounts for work lighting allow you to position the lamp correctly and direct the light where it is needed most.
WHAT LIGHT PATTERNS CAN WORK LIGHTING HAVE?
Work lighting can have either a wide (Flood) or long (Spot) light pattern, with the length of the light varying with the size of the lamp. The light pattern should be even, meaning the eye is not distracted by so-called hotspots where the light is extra strong. In addition to the light pattern, color temperature and color rendering are factors that determine which lamp is used for professional use.
Depending on your work needs, it may be good to investigate the different light patterns of the lamps. It can be about knowing where to place the lamp on your vehicle to get the best possible light for the right purpose. It can be good to combine several different work lights and light patterns to utilize the different lights on different occasions. Sometimes you may need a wide light pattern to see broadly and very close to your vehicle, while other times it may be extremely important to have sharply focused light far ahead. You can choose to, for example, place LED work lights with long range on the roof to get maximum length and complement lower down with a sharper and wider light pattern to create a pleasant and more focused work environment.

HOW DO YOU MOUNT WORK LIGHTING?
Buy mounts and connectors for your work lighting to succeed with the installation. Consider the type of connector, such as Deutsch connectors or ADR-approved connectors, that fits your vehicle. Choose a damped mount if your lighting is exposed to vibrations and an undamped mount if the vehicle does not go off-road. Also, consider whether the work lamp should be mounted standing or hanging or on a rail or pipe; different mounts are available for these applications.
HOW DO LED, XENON, AND HALOGEN LAMPS DIFFER IN WORK LIGHTING?
LED is a newer technology that is largely replacing xenon and halogen lamps. Choosing an LED extra light is now the obvious choice for many. The halogen lamp is appreciated for its warm and pleasant light but is a poorer choice from an environmental perspective as it has a relatively short lifespan compared to Xenon and LED. The xenon lamp’s light is cooler and more realistic than, for example, the halogen lamp. Compared to halogen, xenon is also less energy-consuming, generates less heat, and has better light flow and longer lifespan.
LED, on the other hand, has a short ignition time and provides a bright light with good performance, quickly. It is a durable option that withstands most shocks and impacts, has a long lifespan, and is, in addition, the most energy-efficient option. In our range of LED work lights, you can find the right model and design that suits you, your vehicle, and your work environment best.
WHAT VEHICLES CAN WORK LIGHTS BE MOUNTED ON?
Agricultural machines, trucks, trailers, ships, and boats are common vehicles in need of work lighting.
WHERE DO YOU MOUNT WORK LAMPS?
Work lamps are mounted in various locations, and installation is possible in most places. Work lamps can be screwed directly into a chassis with a chassis mount or on the roof of an excavator using a light bar, for example, from Trux or MittX.
WHAT LAWS AND REGULATIONS EXIST REGARDING WORK LIGHTING FOR VEHICLES?
Vehicles may only display white or yellow light forward. In daylight, you should use low beam, but you may also use other lights. Low beam and other lights may not be used simultaneously. Other lights mean lights from position lamps, fog lights, or voltage-reduced low beam headlights. Vehicles must display red light to the rear. White light to the rear may only be used when reversing or when work requires such lighting.
HOW SHOULD WORK LIGHTING BE DESIGNED FROM AN ERGONOMIC PERSPECTIVE?
Work lights should be able to be directed where needed, and the light pattern and color temperature are factors that affect driver fatigue. In the case of vibrations, the lighting needs to be mounted with a vibration-damping mount to reduce light shaking, which impairs ergonomics.
HOW MANY LUMENS SHOULD WORK LIGHTS HAVE?
Measured lumens with high-quality work lights are around 3000. In the mid-price range, the lamps are about 2000 lumens. Note that the theoretical lumens stated by the manufacturer are not the same as the actual and measured lumen value.
WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN WORK LIGHTING WITH 12V AND 24V?
12V and 24V refer to the input voltage for the lighting, and the difference between the designations is that the transformer and lamp have different resistances. Note that a 12V lamp is used at 12V and can burn out when connected to 24V. A 24V lamp is used at 24V, and the light intensity is not sufficient at 12V.
DOES THE SHAPE OF THE WORK LAMP MATTER?
Square, rectangular, round, or oval? Work lamps come in many different shapes. Besides the aesthetic aspect, the shape of the work lamps also has a functional significance as the space where the lamp is to be mounted is often limited, and sometimes there is no possibility to mount, for example, a round work lamp, so you must choose a square one. But you don’t need to worry – the shape does not affect the light intensity, so in terms of light quality, all shapes can be equally good.
